Service and Price Examples:

When you bring your bicycle to Vermont Bicycle Shop we do our best to provide an easy to understand and accurate itemized estimate. Rather than doing "package deals" which often get in the way of accomplishing what you want done to your bike we begin our repair process by listening to you and talking with you. We inspect the bicycle and go over the price before we perform any service. If you are in a rush we can also call you later and go over an itemized estimate. We can also email or text you the estimate.
You can click here to read reviews and see what people are saying about our world class service!

Below are some examples of our pricing. There are some instances when the labor for a task is less, and some rare occurrences where the labor might be more. These prices listed are labor charges. Parts and accessory prices are not included in these examples.

• Adjust Cable Tension: $9.00 - $14.00

Some Derailleurs and some brakes utilize cable tension. We properly adjust your cable tension via the hardware (not the barrel adjusters or inline adjusters).

• True a Wheel: $16.00 - $27.00

Wheels are a careful balance between three parts; the rim, spokes, and hub. We true your wheels using the proper spoke tensiometer settings. Truing a wheel is measuring the tension between those three mentioned points and balancing that tension to provide a consistent, strong wheel.

• Building a Boxed Bicycle: $59.00 - $149.00

Whether you've just taken a trip and need your bicycle reassembled or you're secret vintage ebay find has just landed. We will unpack your bicycle, take pictures that you can use in case of any shipping damage, and assemble your bicycle to new working order. This includes the proper adjustment of all cables via the hardware and not on the customer's equipment (like the barrel adjusters or inline adjusters). There are a wide variety of ways bicycles are boxed for shipping these days, once we see the what kind of bicycle and how it was boxed we can provide a clearer estimate.

• Make it New Again Winter Special! $424 in season, $249 during the off season (November thru the end of February).
It's important to note that in this process we will need to replace some parts and the price given here is for labor only. The cost of parts are not included unless otherwise specified below. Bicycles with front and rear suspension may not qualify for this pricing, bring you rbike by ahead of time and we can discuss those details.

You've had your bicycle for a couple of years now. You've done the basic tune up each year. It just doesn't ride the same as when it was a new bike. Vermont Bicycle Shop has the service option you are looking for. Bicycles are built upon a balance of clockwork mechanisms and a careful balance of tensions between materials. Simply replacing one bit part at a time can certainly keep a bicycle on the mend and in usable order, without maintaining the balance and precision of each piece of the bicycle we can lose the refinement that created the amazing characteristics that we felt when we first decided to buy that amazing bicycle.
This service package offers a reset on that bicycle. Make it ride like new again. Come see us and we can talk about why and how.

This is a list of some of the things we're going to do to your bike:
Completely remove all parts from the frame, clean every nook and cranny and every small bolt and big part and put it all back together in an attempt to make it as close to a new bike as we can.
Lube, grease, and make it nice.
We reassemble the bicycle with new cables and housing, or update your di2 or EPS software.
A new chain if it's time, or reinstall your old chain with the appropriately compatible quick link, at no additional charge, for your chain. All other parts required for this service are offered at a 10% discount.
We service the wheels and hubs. We service the headset. We replace your handlebar tape or grips if needed.
You get your bicycle back as if it's a brand new bicycle complete with the same bike check ups that come with our new bicycles!
